Los detalles de la construccion de la imagen pudieron ser usados para encajar los soportes de torreones de vigilancia para prevenir incursiones, según indica el estudio de la excavación, aunque no se tiene ninguna constancia de que fuera así.

The following map shows the location of some elements that are not related to the necropolis and have been interpreted as fortifications, based on the finding of postholes dug into the ground of the two rocky platforms that are located at the entrance of the valley. These notches may have been used to support the wooden structure of watchtowers aimed at preventing raids, as suggested by the archaeological report, although there is no further evidence that this was the case.
